Turning Point of Football Career

Hii. In today's blog i am sharing the incident that changed my life or gave a new direction to my sport career.

Every year Subroto Mukerjee Sport Education Society organises Subroto Cup tournament. It is one of the biggest tournament held in football.
Our sir unknowingly was training us for the past so many years for this tournament. Sir's team when he was in school was unable to win this tournament so it was his dream with our help and support to win this tournament. When we were in 10th std. we reached the state final it was a very tough time because we had to play against a very strong team. Our whole school had come to cheer us. And finally we did it. We defeated our rivals 3-1 during a tough tie-braker. We had become the state champions. And now we had to represent the Nationals at Delhi. It was special for me because most of our team members had represented Nationals but for me it was my first National. We also mark a history in our village.
Though we were unable to win this national but being part of this tournament was a different experience because it is managed by air force and being amongst army was a moment of pride for me.

Before returning back to Goa we also visited Taj Mahal, Agra Red fort, Gate of India, Delhi Red Fort, Qutub Minar and so on. It was a wonderful experience of my life.

So I decided not to go for the selection.  On the day of selection sir forced me and send me for the selection. After having 3 selection trials the team was selected and it was unbelievable moment for me that I was selected as part of Goa University. The team was to be representing fir All Indian Woman Football tournament. After practicing for so many days the dates of going for West Zone matches arrived. West zone is basically a small tournament which was held at Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh this year. Before playing for All Indian level matches we need to qualify in this zone. And you all believe it or not but we were the...

My Second Experience

So now the question was which Higher Secondary to choose with my first priority to continuing my football journey. So I admitted my self in St. Xavier Higher Secondary school which is one of the best Higher Secondaries in Goa with Excellency in almost all fields be it in Acadamics or sports. There in 11th std I got the second chance of participating in nationals and that to Subroto Cup. Once again we were in Delhi. It is year of practice and hardwork that makes you perfect in a particular field and so it was with me. After playing for so many years as left defence. It had made me excel at that position but during my second national my position was changed as a result I was not able to perform well but still I tried my best. We lost our first  match was against Tamil Nadu. During second match I was shifted back at my original ...

We used to have practices on alternate days on our school ground. During this practices sir used to always appreciate me and this motivated me even more to never leave football and give my 100%. During this time, GFDC a new council for the development of football which is Goa's state sport was started all over Goa with the aim of sharpening the skills of young footballers. I was part of Moira GFDC. GFDC along with training used to also provide football kit like shoes, jersey, jacket, shock, etc. So those children who were unable to afford it also started joining.
